High bleeding risk management

Chronic renal failure patients may experience fatal bleeding complications. Pre and post surgery patients are at high risk for bleeding and may benefit from lowered doses of anticoagulant. Patients presenting gastrointestinal disease, diabetic retinopathy, clotting factor disorder, haemorrhagic pericarditis, cerebral vascular accident and of course active bleeding sessions are also considered high bleeding risk patients and may benefit from lowered dose of anticoagulant as well.

More specifically, certain patients may benefit from a lowered dose of heparin, such as those experiencing dyslipidaemia, hyperlipidaemia, cholesterol embolism and heparin-induced hyperkalaemia and hypernatraemia.

Simplified and more comfortable treatment option for high bleeding risk patients

Treating patients with a high risk for bleeding presents unique challenges. With the Nephral ST dialyser, Hospal provides an unrivaled treatment option that improves both the comfort of the high bleeding risk patient and the efficacy of the dialysis session as well as simplifies the workflow for the caregiver, compared to other techniques such as Regional Citrate Anticoagulation (RCA) or regular saline flushes.
