Nephral ST

The Nephral ST dialyser features exceptional biocompatibility. This is made possible by the symmetrical homogeneous structure of the AN69 ST hydrogel membrane which enhances its diffusion, convection and especially adsorption characteristics. The membrane’s outstanding adsorption capacity contributes to efficient removal of toxins such as ß2mG or AGE’s and elmination of inflammatory mediators such as cytokines or anaphylatoxins.

The specific surface treatment on the membrane with the polyethyleneimine biopolymer prevents blood contact activation. In addition it binds heparin molecules during priming with a pre-heparinized saline solution. This means that less systemic heparin may be given to the patient to complete the dialysis session reducing risks* and constraints associated with systemic anticoagulation.

* Bleeding, dyslipidaemia, osteoporosis, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, heparin-induced hyperkalaemia and hypernatraemia.
