About Hospal

The Hospal company was founded in 1977 by the merger of the artificial kidney operations of two European chemical and pharmaceutical companies – Rhône-Poulenc and Sandoz. After ten years of continuous success and growth Hospal joined the Gambro Group in 1987. The acquisition was complemented in 1990 when the American company COBE also joined the Group creating a world leading company within the field of dialysis. Today, Hospal products, largely developed and manufactured in our European units, are distributed worldwide through a network of trade companies and commercial distributors.
